President of the State of Israel Isaac Herzog paid an official visit to Azerbaijan on 30.

Axar.az reports that during his visit, President Isaac Herzog first met with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. Then the government officials of Azerbaijan and Israel under the leadership of Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Isaac Herzog held an expanded meeting.

After the meeting, an agreement on the plan of cooperation for 2023-2028 in health and medical science fields between the Ministries of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State of Israel.

In the meeting, the Presidents of both Azerbaijan and Israel appreciated the high-level bilateral relations between the two states, as well as both sides, touched upon the discussion of the broad range of issues on the development of the current bilateral cooperation between Baku and Tal-Aviv.

According to President Ilham Aliyev, the opening of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Israel this year will elevate relations to a high level, as well will create more opportunities to have closer interaction.

Aliyev also said Azerbaijan and Israel have begun effective mutual cooperation in the field of cybersecurity.

In turn President Isaac Herzog, the Azerbaijan-Israel relationship is based on deep roots.

“Together with a joint strategic vision that we have for peace and the common good and doing good, and a dialogue - a fruitful, honest, frank and friendly dialogue - between Jews and Muslims - a vision with which we can dream about and which we can show,” said Israeli President.

Referring to the essence of Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s official visit to Azerbaijan, the well-known Israeli journalists Rachel Avraham and Dean Shmuel Elmas have commented on perspectives of the Azerbaijan-Israel relationship.

Rachel Avraham said that the official visit of the Israeli leader to Azerbaijan is an important indication of the strong bilateral ties between Baku and Tal-Aviv.

I believe it to be very important as an indication of the strong bilateral ties between the two countries. It shows how much importance the Israeli president attaches to Azerbaijan.

Well, an important cooperation agreement was signed related to healthcare, but there are also many other areas where Israel and Azerbaijan cooperate, such as agriculture, tourism, security, energy, etc. In fact, Azerbaijan supplies Israel with 40 per cent of its gas.

I believe Israel is doing everything to strengthen the security cooperation between the two countries. Both countries share a common foe, the Islamic Republic of Iran, which attacked the Azerbaijani Embassy, attempted to kill an Azerbaijani MP and now tried to kill Azerbaijani dissident Ahmad Obali in the US. Both Azerbaijan and Israel see Iran as a threat, and both countries should cooperate together to address the Iranian threat.

I think that Israel should do everything to support Azerbaijan when it comes to addressing the threat that Iran poses to the Caucuses country. I also think more should be done to help the Azerbaijani community in Iran to rebel so that they can succeed from Iran and create a free South Azerbaijan once again.

According to Dean Shmuel Elmas, Geopolitics and Energy Journalist, as well as a Globes correspondent in Istanbul for the Turkish elections, the official visit to Azerbaijan by President Isaac Herzog is a clear message to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

This is another important step in the 31 years long bilateral relations because we all know very well the amazing relations between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Ilham Aliyev. At the same time, it is a clear message to Iran that they shouldn't pose a threat or Israel and Azerbaijan because the relations are very strong in all aspects.

I agree with the agenda of the Azerbaijani MFA that for good and honest relations you don't have to open an embassy, but still, it's important. We saw how the bilateral relations received some kind of a boost since the opening of the Azerbaijani embassy in Tel Aviv. I think that deals like the satellite one, couldn't be happened without an embassy.

Absolutely. With all modesty, reports published around the world in recent years regarding unusual cyber incidents attributed to Israel - spoke for themselves. Israel helped Azerbaijan in the past and will do so in the future as well because Israel is the best friend of Azerbaijan.

Iran thinks that if they will pose a threat to Israel or Azerbaijan, the countries will change their habits. Well, the Ayyatolahs' Regime is damn wrong. Azerbaijan is a secular pro-western country and will stay the same. Israel is the strongest country in the region and will be even stronger. If someone in Iran thinks that they will beat Israel and Azerbaijan, he should think again. Israel and Azerbaijan can smash Iran together, even more than the Armenian defeat in the Second Karabakh War.
