Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov received Yuri Kim, the assistant to the US Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan.
Axar.az reports that according to the information by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting, the current situation in the region after Azerbaijan's anti-terrorist measures, as well as humanitarian aid issues were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov pointed out that ending the presence of illegal Armenian armed forces, which is the main threat in the region, will serve peace and stability.
The other party was informed about the process of disarmament, the measures implemented by our country to meet the needs of the Armenian residents, and the negotiations on the reintegration of the Armenian residents.
At present, it has been brought to attention that the ongoing smear campaign against Azerbaijan has no basis, Azerbaijan does not pose any threat to Armenian residents. It was stated that the allegations against Azerbaijan are groundless, and we are ready to organize a visit of the UN bodies to the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan under the leadership of the Resident Coordinator of the UN in our country to prove it.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov pointed out that despite all the efforts made by our country through the involved international partners, the Armenian side continues to obstruct the peace process. It was emphasized that Azerbaijan is interested in the peace process with Armenia on the basis of mutual respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty.
At the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
