The liberation of Shusha by our Army on November 8, 2020, was a manifestation of our will. Two days later, Armenia signed the act of capitulation and Azerbaijan ended the 30-year occupation.
Axar.az reports that the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, said this during his speech at the opening ceremony of the 2nd National Urban Planning Forum on "Sustainable cities as a driving force of economic development and fighting inequalities" held on September 29 in Zangilan.
"On April 23 (2023 - ed.) we created a border crossing point on the border with Armenia and fully ensured our territorial integrity. Because we regained control over all our borders. Of course, on September 20 (2023 - ed.) we regained our sovereignty. That is, there are no more "grey" zones, there are no illegal structures, and separatism has been put an end to in our lands. This is an indication of our strong political will. This shows that the government of Azerbaijan is ready for peace with Armenia. This is a good signal - some still live with revenge and revanchist ideas - this is a strong signal for them to give up these ideas," the head of state said.
