As we reported, Nikol Pashinyan mentioned the names of the villages of the Tavush region under the "occupation" of Azerbaijan during an interview with his country's Public Television in response to Azerbaijan's demand for the 8 occupied villages and asked for their return.

Berkaber - historical name is Bibish. The name of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Armenian SSR was changed by the decree of January 25, 1978. Currently, it is a village of Ijevan district.

Vazashen - its historical name is Lelakand. It was a village in the Gazakh District of Ganja Governorate. In a number of historical sources, there is information that the settlement belonged to Iravan Khan Lalaba. The name of Lelakand was changed by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Armenian SSR dated January 25, 1978. Currently, it is a village of Ijevan district.

Paravakar - the historical name is Tatli village. It should be noted that during the war and during the ceasefire, Armenia continuously fired at the positions of our Army in the Agstafa region from the direction of the village.

Artsvashen - the historical name is Bashkend. The village is currently the territory of the Gadabay district. Armenians were first moved here in 1859. During the events of 1905-1906, and 1918-1920, the Azerbaijani population was forcibly removed from there. It was given to Armenia in the early 1920s. By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Armenian SSR dated 25.01.1978, the name was changed to Artsvashen (Gartalkand in Armenian). It was released from occupation as a result of the operation conducted by the Azerbaijani Army on August 6-8, 1992.
