The assassination attempt by Iran and Hezbollah cannot be overlooked.

Axar.az reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made this statement during a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Jerusalem.

In a meeting that lasted two and a half hours, Netanyahu noted that this is a matter of dramatic significance that has not gone unnoticed.

The parties discussed Israel's anticipated response to Iran's mass rocket attack on the Jewish state on October 1. Israel is also expected to respond to Hezbollah's drone attack that damaged the bedroom window of Netanyahu's home in Caesarea.

Blinken reiterated U.S. support for Israel, while also expressing efforts to reduce tensions in the region and work towards long-term peace.

The Secretary of State emphasized the importance of a “diplomatic resolution” to the violent conflict between the Israeli army and Hezbollah.

It is worth noting that this is Blinken's 11th visit to the region since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war on October 7, 2023. He had announced an urgent visit to the region immediately after the news of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar's death.

Blinken's previously scheduled trip to Jordan has been canceled, and he is reported to be heading to Saudi Arabia.
