Iran FM, Pashinyan discuss regional ties and peace process

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who is on a visit to Yerevan, met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Axar.az reports that Pashinyan welcomed Araghchi’s visit to Yerevan and wished him success.

The Prime Minister thanked the Iranian official for supporting the development of relations between the two countries. Araghchi conveyed the greetings of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Pashinyan and reaffirmed Iran’s stance on the inviolability of regional borders.

The two officials discussed the implementation of new economic, infrastructure, and energy projects between Armenia and Iran, as well as the importance of organizing high-level bilateral visits.

During the meeting, they also exchanged views on the signing of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan and other matters of mutual interest.

Pashinyan reiterated Armenia’s commitment to its peace agenda, while Araghchi expressed Iran’s support for the process.
