Europe is increasingly alarmed as the US and Russia advance negotiations on Ukraine without involving European allies.

Axar.az, citing FT, reports that Vladimir Putin has reportedly offered to freeze the front lines and abandon claims to some occupied areas in exchange for US recognition of Crimea.

European officials dismiss this as a false concession and fear Donald Trump might accept the deal, undermining Ukraine’s sovereignty and sidelining Europe. The cancellation of a key meeting in London by US officials further confirms Europe’s exclusion, as Trump’s envoy shifts focus to direct talks with Moscow.

European leaders warn that recognizing Crimea would spark a major crisis with the EU and NATO, which firmly reject Russia’s annexations. The situation risks fracturing the alliance if Trump pushes for a deal on Moscow’s terms.

Meanwhile, Netcompany CEO André Rogaczewski urges Europe to focus on a “digital awakening” by investing in its own tech capabilities rather than retaliating against US firms. He emphasizes digital sovereignty and innovation aligned with democratic values as the path forward.
