In a carefully orchestrated operation shrouded in secrecy, President Trump ordered a surprise strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities just 48 hours after publicly suggesting he was still undecided.

Axar.az reports that, in an analytical piece, Axios reveals new insights into Trump’s meticulously premeditated strikes on Iran, highlighting the calculated deception and secrecy behind the operation.

Dubbed a "headfake" by his advisers, Trump’s comment about deciding “within the next two weeks” served as a diversion while B-2 stealth bombers were already en route.

Operation Midnight Hammer, the most significant direct U.S. military action against Iran since 1979, was characterized by extensive planning, deceptive decoy routes, and radio silence to maintain the element of surprise.

Trump controlled messaging closely, limiting knowledge of the mission to a small inner circle and even misleading most U.S. officials and allies until the final moments.

Although Trump had been open to diplomacy up to the last minute — with even a secret plan to meet Iranian officials in Istanbul — the lack of progress, Israeli attacks, and intelligence on Iran’s nuclear activity pushed him to proceed.

From his golf club in New Jersey to the Situation Room in Washington, Trump monitored the strike, which used advanced bunker-buster bombs to target Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan.

Despite the devastating blow, U.S. officials have reiterated that regime change is not the goal and have invited Iran back to the negotiating table, underscoring Trump's ongoing desire for a deal even after the airstrikes.
