The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for 2024 was set to be announced on October 7 by the Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet.

Axar.az reports that this announcement is part of the yearly cycle of Nobel Prizes across various categories, including Physics, Chemistry, Literature, and Peace, all scheduled for the week of October 7-14, 2024.
The Nobel Prizes recognize groundbreaking contributions to fields advancing human knowledge and societal progress. This particular prize in medicine honors significant discoveries in medical science and biology that benefit humanity.
Previous winners of the Medicine Prize have included scientists who revolutionized fields such as cancer research, genome editing, and infectious disease treatments. The prize not only highlights individual achievement but also inspires global recognition for medical research's importance.

The prize has been awarded 114 times to a total of 227 laurates and only 13 women have been awarded the prize.

It should be noted that Noble announcements continue with the physics prize on Tuesday, chemistry on Wednesday, and literature on Thursday. the Noble Peace Prize will be announced on Friday and the Economics Award on Oct. 14.
