U.S. President Donald Trump’s move against Iran is aimed not only at supporting Israel but also at forming a new system of relations in the Middle East by relying on key players among influential monarchies.
Axar.az, reports that this was stated by Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia.
“It appears that Trump’s plans go far beyond resolving the problem of Iran’s nuclear weapons. Clearly, the U.S. President’s goal is not an illusory victory of Israel over all its enemies, but Washington’s determined participation in forming a new system of relations in the Middle East—one that relies not only on Israel, but also on key players among influential monarchies,” he said.
According to him, it is no coincidence that Qatar has been assigned a major mediating role in the conflict:
“Just yesterday, U.S. President’s special envoy Steven Wietkoff stated that one of the president’s main goals is to expand the Abraham Accords. He also said that some important announcements would soon be made regarding the countries expected to join and that relations would be normalized even with nations people would never expect—this is precisely what he was referring to.”
