We will enhance the efficiency of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project through increased cooperation.
Axar.az reports that this was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan during his speech at the “Global Transport Corridors” Forum held at the Istanbul Congress Center.
He noted that the importance of the Middle Corridor has increased in the face of the Russia-Ukraine war and rising geopolitical risks:
“This route creates opportunities for economic development and trade diversification.”
According to the minister, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is a key part of this route.
The diplomat added that turning the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway into a crucial component of the Middle Corridor is a result of exemplary trilateral cooperation between Turkiye, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.
