Azerbaijani women imprisoned in Iraq were brought home

As a result of the relevant coordination work carried out by the government of Azerbaijan, as well as the phased and coordinated measures of the relevant state institutions of our country, 3 female citizens of Azerbaijan, who spent their lives as prisoners in Iraq and have now finished their sentences, were brought home.

Axar.az was informed about this by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It was reported that at the next stage, it is planned to bring 2 more citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who have completed their sentences to our country.

"Currently, relevant works are being continued in the direction of gradually bringing the female citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan detained in the Republic of Iraq to our country. In this regard, appropriate appeals have been addressed to the relevant state institutions of the Republic of Iraq", - the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted.

It should be noted that as a result of measures implemented by the Azerbaijani government, 288 children of our female citizens have been brought back to Azerbaijan.
