Artifacts have been found in a courtyard in the Shatirli village of Jalilabad district, Azerbaijan.

The villager Anar Gasimov firstly supposed it was an ordinary earthenware pot used in the home. Thereafter, he found human remains.

Along with the human remains, there were over 70 different decorations, including beads, pin, silver ring and necklace.

Historian Elshad Amanov says it is the first time in the southern region that decorations made of cockleshell are found in such burials. According to him, the human remains belong to 9-12-year-old girl.

The artifacts have been sent to the Archeology and Ethnography Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences for being investigated.

As Jalilabad Regional Department of Culture and Tourism informed, more extensive archaeological investigations are planned to be conducted soon in the area.
