A telephone conversation between Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis and his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan took place.

Axar.az reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece released information about this.

It was reported that the Greek minister welcomed the joint statement issued by Armenia and Azerbaijan on December 7.

In addition, the ministers discussed the results of yesterday's meeting of the Supreme Cooperation Council of Greece and Turkiye.

A. Mirzoyan invited his Greek colleague to visit Yerevan.

Gerapetritis accepted the invitation and said that the visit would be planned through diplomatic channels.

It should be noted that on December 7, the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia issued a joint statement and announced that several agreements had been reached. Thus, Azerbaijan frees 32 Armenian soldiers, and Armenia, in turn, frees 2 Azerbaijani soldiers. Besides, Armenia withdraws its candidacy to host the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) and supports the candidacy of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan supports Armenia's candidacy for membership in the Bureau of the COP from the Eastern European Group.
