In July, the temperature was higher than norm

During the last days of July 2024, the average monthly temperature in the country was 3.4 degrees higher than the climatic norm.

Axar.az reports that Nazim Mahmudov, head of the National Hydrometeorological Service, said this.

He noted that, despite this, the record indicator has not been updated compared to multi-year data.

"On separate days, the weather was unstable, it rained occasionally, and there was lightning. It rained for 6-9 days in the regions, and 4 days on the Absheron peninsula. In most regions, the amount of precipitation was within the norm. In the past period of July, eastern winds prevailed in the regions," he said.

According to N. Mahmudov, on separate days, in some mountainous and foothill regions, the east wind strengthened for a short time, and on some days the wind speed exceeded 15 m/s.

It should be noted that yellow and orange warnings were given to the population and relevant institutions in advance regarding the expected windy weather conditions.
