President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation stone of the "Imarat" stadium in Aghdam on September 19.

Axar.az reports that the Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov informed the head of state about the conditions to be created in the stadium.

It was reported that 19.2 hectares of land has been allocated for the stadium to be built in accordance with the "I State Program on the Great Return to the territories freed from occupation of the Republic of Azerbaijan".

It is planned to build the "Imarat" stadium in accordance with UEFA category 4 requirements. The playing field of the stadium with a capacity of 11,700 spectators will have a natural grass cover.

The stadium will have VVIP, VIP lounge, conference hall, meeting rooms, judges' rooms, team dressing rooms, media rooms, museum, commentator's rooms and other administrative and auxiliary areas in accordance with UEFA requirements. An additional training ground, running track, parking lots, checkpoints, technical building and facilities will be built on the territory of the stadium.

The city population will be able to use the territory of the stadium as a park and entertainment zone. For this purpose, it is planned to create a fitness hall, cafe, restaurant, sports goods stores and other public service areas in the stadium.

Modern monitors, control, input-output, sound, lighting and other communication systems will be installed in the stadium. In short, putting the stadium into use will create comprehensive conditions for holding both local and international competitions.
