Azerbaijan lifts import restrictions due to avian flu

Due to highly pathogenic avian influenza, the import restrictions imposed by Azerbaijan on many countries have been lifted.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AFSA).

It was noted that, based on the official data from the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH), the highly pathogenic avian influenza cases reported in the Tunis governorate of the Republic of Tunisia, the Bethlehem district of the State of Palestine, the Rogaland administrative region of the Kingdom of Norway, and the North Jutland region of the Kingdom of Denmark, as well as in the Karnali and Bagmati provinces of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, the Ties region of the Republic of Senegal, and the Korça and Fier provinces of the Republic of Albania have been eradicated. This list also includes the Cochabamba administrative region of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, the Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins region of Chile, the Zurich administrative region of the Swiss Confederation, and the states of New Mexico and Iowa in the United States.

According to the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH), the waiting period has ended and the epizootic health status has been restored in the mentioned areas after the eradication of these diseases based on the "Animal Health Code."

In this regard, the restrictions imposed on these areas to protect against the mentioned infectious diseases have been lifted in Azerbaijan. Additionally, a request has been made to the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan to carry out the necessary measures.
