The pro-Armenian US congressman Frank Pellone, who insulted the people of Azerbaijan, has already left the country.

Axar.az reports that, citing APА, F. Pellone's visit to Azerbaijan caused severe criticism and anger of the public.

According to diplomatic sources that Frank Pellone planned to participate in COP29 from November 18 and hold numerous meetings in Baku. For this purpose, he arrived in Baku last Saturday afternoon and tried to make the weekend memorable by touring Baku and holding informal meetings.

However, Frank Pellone, who was caught by Azerbaijani media at Baku airport, did not answer the questions. Local NGO leaders and social activists, who heard about his arrival, gathered in front of the hotel where he will stay. To wait for them to disperse, the US congressman changed his route and did not go to the hotel, but suddenly appeared at COP29. Here, the local media were interested in how much funding he received from Armenian lobbying organizations every month for slander campaigns against Azerbaijan, and how many dollars his rates for lobbying services were. F. Pellone tried to hide from journalists in the back rooms of COP29 without answering questions. Although he was offered to participate in the briefing held at COP29 with the participation of representatives from the legislative body of the USA, F. Pellone, who was met with public anger, refused to participate in the briefing in Baku, fearing to face the questions of the Azerbaijani media. A group of angry Azerbaijani NGO leaders and social activists met him at the hotel with a protest. "Pellone, be rejected!", "Apologize to the people of Azerbaijan!" The US congressman, faced with the slogans, was able to enter the hotel with the help of his bodyguards and local law enforcement agencies and canceled all his meetings.

Frank Pellone could not leave the hotel because he was afraid of the anger of the Azerbaijani people. Yesterday again, Azerbaijan NGO representatives and social activists tried to run after the protest action in front of the hotel where Pellone was staying with the slogans "Pellone, refuse!", "Pellone - border violator", "Pellone, answer" and cut short his trip to Baku.

Since there were many foreign guests in the hotel, he was in a panic situation inside, but he was also afraid to leave the hotel.

It is also reported that he watched with heartache how the "myth of Great Armenia" was destroyed by the anti-terrorist operation and the Patriotic War, which ended with the historical victory of Azerbaijan in the nearby Military Spoils Park and the Arch of Triumph from the hotel, and he scolded his assistants for choosing such a place.

It is reported that Pellone left the hotel early in the morning and came directly to the airport, leaving Baku on a special charter flight. Thus, Frank Pellone's visit to Azerbaijan was remembered with shame.

It should be noted that F. Pellone is famous in the USA as an Islamophobe, a Turkophobe, a financial fraudster, and a corrupt congressman. His activity is based on slander against Azerbaijan. F. Pellone defends the interests of the Armenian lobby in the United States and repeatedly disrespected Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
