Azerbaijani Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov met with Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, Chairman of Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), who is visiting Azerbaijan during COP29.
Axar.az reports that according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ Press Service, Minister Heydarov emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan are historically built on principles of unwaveringfriendship, brotherhood, and mutual respect, and discussed the mutual benefits of expanding cooperation between the two countries' emergency response agencies.
The minister also highlighted that the agreement between the governments of Azerbaijan and Pakistan on cooperation in prevention, limitation and mitigation of disaster consequences, signed in Islamabad on January 13, 2021, gave significant impetus to the development of relations. He also provided detailed information about the activities of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, in turn, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and satisfaction with participation in COP29, emphasizing the high-level hosting of the global event by Azerbaijan.
He provided detailed information about his organization's activities and discussed the importance of effectively using existing potential to deepen relations between the two agencies in preventing and eliminating consequences of emergencies.
