Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman on Saturday "categorically" rejected The New York Times report claiming that Tehran’s ambassador to the United Nations had met with U.S. tech billionaire Elon Musk.

Axar.az reports that in an interview with state news agency IRNA, spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei was reported as “categorically denying such a meeting” and expressing “surprise at the coverage of the American media in this regard.”

It should be noted that The Times reported on Friday that Elon Musk, a close ally of President-elect Donald Trump, held a meeting earlier this week with Iran's UN ambassador, Amir Saeid Iravani.
