Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev met with his Russian counterpart Igor Krasnov.

Axar.az reports that during the meeting, Krasnov called on his Azerbaijani colleague to unite efforts of environmental protection, oversight, and law enforcement agencies.

He noted that Russia welcomes the Azerbaijani prosecution’s initiative to enhance law enforcement efforts in combating climate change and highlighted the significance of the COP29 climate conference held in Baku.

"I have no doubt that the potential of prosecutorial bodies will be essential in addressing this issue," said Russia’s Prosecutor General.

He also cited the example of ecological security cooperation among Caspian region countries.
