It has been revealed which departments the injured passengers of the AZAL plane, which crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan on December 25, have been placed in.

Axar.az reports that this information was provided by the working group established by the Ombudspersons of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

It was reported that a total of 27 people have been hospitalized. Of these, 15 are Azerbaijani citizens, 8 are Russian, 3 are Kyrgyz, and the identity of one person has not yet been determined.

Of the hospitalized individuals, 11 are in the intensive care unit, 13 in the trauma department, 2 in the neurosurgery department, and 1 in the surgery department. These individuals are under the care of professional doctors sent from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Russia. They have been provided with urgent, specialized medical, and psychological assistance.

It is worth noting that the AZAL passenger plane, operating the Baku-Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau on December 25. Of the 67 people on board, 42 were Azerbaijani, 16 were Russian, 6 were Kazakhstani, and 3 were Kyrgyz. Of them, 38 died, and 29 survived.

President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree declaring a one-day national mourning period following the tragic loss of many lives.

Additionally, by the president's instructions, a State Commission has been established under the leadership of Prime Minister Ali Asadov to investigate the causes of the plane crash.
