Azerbaijan sends first convoy of humanitarian aid to Syria

Today, in accordance with the relevant instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, a humanitarian convoy has been sent to help those suffering from the humanitarian crisis in Syria.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Aykhan Hajizade, the head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement to journalists.

The Ministry official noted that the aid includes 200 tons of food and essential products.

The aid is planned to be distributed to those in need in the city of Idlib, Syria.

Ayxan Hacızadə also emphasized that assistance will continue in the near future.

It is worth mentioning that the Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister, Yalchin Rafiyev, is leading a delegation on a visit to Syria.
