Starting from July 23 of this year, foreign citizens will be able to travel to the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, both by individual vehicles and in groups, by obtaining appropriate permits, to the cities of Shusha, Lachin, Aghdam, Fuzuli, Khojaly, and Khankendi.
Axar.az reports this, citing information jointly released by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and the State Tourism Agency.
The mentioned opportunity will apply to foreign citizens visiting Azerbaijan for up to 90 days, as well as those who have a temporary or permanent residence permit in our country.
Foreign citizens who wish to travel to the mentioned territories by private car will have the opportunity to realize their trip by obtaining a permit through the “Our Way to Karabakh” (www.yolumuzqarabaga.az) portal.
Appropriate windows have been created on the portal for entering passport data of foreign citizens, and functionality in English and Russian has been provided on the portal to ensure accessibility.
Drivers of private cars should familiarize themselves with the rules of the trip and educational information on mine safety through the “Our Way to Karabakh” portal, as well as inform the traveling parties about this, and after passing the appropriate inspection, when entering the liberated territories, they should not deviate from the route to comply with mine safety, be careful in their driving and follow the rules along the route.
Citizens of foreign countries can also obtain information about hotels and other accommodation facilities operating in the destinations they are traveling to through the “Our Way to Karabakh” portal.
In addition, foreigners can also travel to the liberated territories in groups. Group tours will be carried out by tourism companies registered as tour operators in the Tourism Register.
We also inform you that foreign citizens who make reservations at hotels operating in the above-mentioned territories will have obtained an entry permit to the territory.
The issued permits will be valid for 5 days.
