Turkish specialist Rza Chalımbay can be appointed the head coach of the Azerbaijan national football team.

Axar.az reports that the 61-year-old coach said this in a statement to "Sabah" newspaper.

He said that he is ready to be "behind the steering wheel" of the Azerbaijan national team.

"It is true that I have not yet received an official offer from the Azerbaijani national team. However, I have heard that my name is associated with this team. I expect they will contact me within a few days. If an offer comes, I will take a positive approach to coaching the Azerbaijan national team."

It should be noted that after the resignation of Gianni De Biazi, the post of head coach of the Azerbaijan national team is vacant. Riza Çalımbay managed the Turkish Beşiktaş club for the last time in 2023.
