A 5.9 magnitude earthquake has struck the Qala district of Malatya province in Turkiye.
Axar.az informs that this was reported by the country's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10.07 kilometers and was felt in the provinces of Diyarbakir, Elazig, Kahramanmarash, Tokat, and Adıyaman.
In connection with the earthquake, schools in Malatya have been closed for one day.
There is currently no information about any damage.

The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre has reported that the earthquake in Turkiye (46 km north of Malatya) had a magnitude of 6.1 and occurred at a depth of 9 km.
