Armenia intends to fulfill Azerbaijan's next demand regarding the mandate of the EU monitoring mission in Armenia.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by the publication "Hraparak."

The publication stated that neither Armenia nor the EU mission has responded to this inquiry.

It should be noted that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev discussed this matter on October 14 when he received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium, Julyen de Frepon. He mentioned that Azerbaijan had given a two-month agreement for this mission in October 2022 in Prague.

"However, when the duration of this mission was extended, no one consulted with us. Now discussions are being held regarding its extension. The behavior of the mission members, as they say, is 'binoculars diplomacy,' which is completely unacceptable and beyond any normal standards of political culture. We will raise this issue in our contacts with the European Union," the President emphasized.

The publication recalled that the mandate of the EU mission is set to expire in February 2025 after its last extension. If Armenia does not extend the mandate, the mission will cease operations.
