It was stated that a "Cessna Aircraft" business jet veered off the runway at the Ubatuba airport, flew directly toward the city beach, and crashed near a park, exploding on impact.

There were five people onboard the plane, and the pilot lost his life. The remaining passengers were rescued by locals. Among the injured are children, who witnesses say were pulled from the wreckage. People relaxing on the beach during the crash were also among those injured.

Preliminary reports suggest that bad weather was the cause of the crash.
