The United States and China have extended their “tariff truce” for another three months following negotiations held in Stockholm.
Axar.az informs that this was reported by “Sveriges Radio.”
“The U.S. and China have agreed to extend the validity of existing tariff concessions,” the statement said, led by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng.
It should be noted that following negotiations held between U.S. and Chinese delegations in Geneva on May 10–11, an agreement was reached to mutually reduce customs tariffs for a period of 90 days starting from May 12. Tariffs on Chinese goods imported into the U.S. were reduced to 30%, while tariffs on American goods exported to China were lowered to 10%. That agreement was set to expire on August 12. The Stockholm negotiations took place on July 28–29.
