Imposing tariffs on Russia could lead to a sharp increase in oil prices, which could put pressure on inflation in the United States; this could deter Donald Trump from such a decision.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Reuters energy expert Ron Busso, commenting on US leader Donald Trump's threat to impose tariffs on Russia.

He noted that the imposition of 100% tariffs on India and China, the largest buyers of Russian oil, could lead to disruptions in the global supply chain. In June alone, Russia exported 4.68 million barrels of crude oil per day, which is about 4.5% of global demand.
