Trump noted that a tsunami warning is also in effect for Alaska and the Pacific coast of the United States, and emphasized that Japan is also in danger.

The US Tsunami Warning Center warned that tsunami waves over 3 meters high due to a powerful earthquake in the Pacific Ocean could even reach the coasts of South America, Ecuador, and Chile.

It was noted that the authorities in Japan and Hawaii have announced the need for the urgent evacuation of people from coastal regions to higher ground. In particular, the personnel of the Japanese Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant, which was seriously damaged during the devastating tsunami that occurred in March 2011, were evacuated.
