Russian composer Rodion Shchedrin dies at 92

Famous Russian composer and People’s Artist of the USSR, Rodion Shchedrin, has passed away at the age of 92.

Axar.az informs the Bolshoi Theatre announced his death in a message on its Telegram channel.

Rodion Shchedrin was the author of the ballets The Little Humpbacked Horse, Carmen Suite, Anna Karenina, The Seagull, The Lady with the Dog; the operas Dead Souls, Lolita, The Enchanted Wanderer, Boyarynya Morozova, Lefty, and many other compositions.

Since 1958, Shchedrin was married to the ballerina Maya Plisetskaya, who passed away in 2015.
