Serbia reaffirms EU membership as a strategic priority

Membership in the European Union is a strategic commitment and a foreign policy priority for Serbia.

Axar.az reports that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said this at a joint press conference with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who is visiting Belgrade.

He expressed hope that the work done in the country on the regulatory body and voter lists will be positively assessed by the EU.

“Serbia has chosen to join the EU, and we expect the country to move forward on its own path at double speed. Take, for example, the energy crisis in 2022, which had a sharp impact and we dealt with it. You can count on us. We have invited Serbia to join the EU gas supply mechanism,” Leyen, in turn, noted.
