Russia to keep military bases in Syria

Russia will maintain its military bases in Syria.

Axar.az reports citing foreign media.

It was noted that Syrian leader Ahmed Al-Sharaa, who met with President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin, promised his counterpart that they would maintain the Tartus and Khmeimim military bases.

In return, Al-Sharaa asked Russia for guarantees that the remnants of Bashar Assad's forces would not be rearmed. He also expressed hope for Russia's support in the reconstruction of the Syrian army.

It should be noted that a meeting lasting more than 2.5 hours was held between Putin and Shara today.
