Ships and personnel belonging to the Iranian Navy (NVD) entered the territorial waters of Azerbaijan to participate in the “AZIREX-2025” joint search and rescue exercise to be held in Azerbaijan and arrived at the meeting point.

Axar.az was informed about this by the Ministry of Defense.

It was noted that a ceremonial welcoming ceremony was held for the ships. The Azerbaijani Navy command and other officials attended the event.

A meeting was then held between the leadership of the Iranian Navy and the Azerbaijani Navy commander. The meeting discussed issues related to expanding cooperation and organizing the “AZIREX-2025” joint search and rescue exercise.

A briefing on the exercise was presented within the framework of the event, and questions of interest were answered.

The primary objective of the joint exercise is to ensure security in the Caspian Sea and strengthen interaction and coordination in search and rescue operations.
