Katz: IDF has no limits in southern Lebanon operations

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz says soldiers operating in southern Lebanon have “no restrictions” in eliminating threats to the forces.

Axar.az informs, citing The Times of Israel, “There was and is no restriction on IDF soldiers in Lebanon from operating to remove threats,” he said in a statement, as talks between Iran and the US are set to kick off in Switzerland, with Tehran saying that the Hezbollah-Israel conflict is top of the agenda.

Katz said that “all of the IDF’s achievements in the campaign in Lebanon are being maintained,” as troops remain deployed to a security zone and operate there against Hezbollah.

“The ceasefire announced yesterday leaves the IDF in all positions within the security zone that protects the northern communities,” he said, adding that the IDF “will not withdraw from the security zone in Lebanon.”

It should be noted that on June 19, Hezbollah and Israel agreed to a ceasefire.
