Pezeshkian says US–Iran deal serves Iran’s interests

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the US–Iran memorandum of understanding serves Iran’s national interests, adding that the outcomes of the negotiations will become clear in the near future.

Axar.az reports, citing Al Mayadeen, Pezeshkian also announced that $6 billion in Iranian funds held in Qatar will be returned.

He stated that US President Donald Trump, who previously sought to “deny Iran its rights,” had acknowledged them in his latest remarks, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was the first to express dissatisfaction with the negotiations.

Pezeshkian added that the only US condition was for Iran not to possess nuclear weapons, stressing that this position aligns with Iran’s long-standing stance, reiterated by its late leadership: that the country does not seek to develop an atomic bomb.
