Orenburg flooded after powerful thunderstorm - Video

The Russian city of Orenburg and nearby settlements have been flooded following a powerful thunderstorm.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, videos circulating online show people moving through flooded areas on inflatable rings, attempting to reach their cars through rooftops, while water pours down stairways like waterfalls.

The most severe flooding has been reported in the Prigorodny settlement and around the Krona residential complex, where dozens of vehicles were submerged almost up to their roofs.

Flooding was also reported on Salmyshskaya and Proletarskaya streets in Orenburg, with the embankment inundated and roads damaged in several areas. Severe flooding has also been recorded in nearby residential communities and on roads leading to surrounding settlements.

Residents said that even during the 2024 floods, water levels in Prigorodny were significantly lower than they are now.
