EU may sanction Georgian officials

Sanctions may be imposed on officials who used force against peaceful protests in Georgia.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Kaja Kallas, the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

"We are trying to impose sanctions against high-ranking state officials who used force against peaceful demonstrators in Georgia. At the moment, we do not have the support of all member states. However, we continue to look for different ways to solve these problems," she said.
