Iran uncovers new gold mine in South Khorasan province

A new gold mine has recently been discovered in South Khorasan Province in eastern Iran.

Axar.az informs, citing Mehr News Agency, the Shadan gold mine has been added to the country’s major gold reserves following approval from the Ministry of Mines and Trade.

The proven reserve of the gold vein in the Shadan region is estimated at 61 million tons.

The total reserves include 7.95 million tons of gold oxide ore and 53.1 million tons of gold sulfide ore, placing the Shadan mine among Iran’s largest gold reserves.
