France braces for mass protests on November 5

Between 500,000 and 700,000 people are expected to take part in demonstrations across France on November 5, while between 40,000 and 80,000 are forecast to join the rally in Paris.

Axar.az reports, citing French media, that the Paris demonstration is expected to draw up to 80,000 participants.

In the capital, according to the French territorial intelligence service, the march is scheduled to take place from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., following a route between Place de la Republique and Place de la Nation via Boulevard Voltaire.

It was noted that a meeting of the National Defence and Security Council is planned following a Cabinet meeting. The aim is to prepare for the two upcoming protests in terms of maintaining public order and law enforcement measures.
