WSJ: Kremlin chose Witkoff as key US contact

The Russian-US relationship began at the beginning of the year, after the Saudi crown prince passed on a Kremlin signal to Steve Witkoff. The message stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin wanted to meet with him personally.

Axar.az reports, citing the Wall Street Journal.

“The Kremlin carefully studied Trump’s entourage and chose Witkoff as the most acceptable candidate for Moscow. As a result, Witkoff effectively replaced the more professional Keith Kellogg, who the Russians rejected for his pro-Ukrainian views,” the message said.
