EU launches formal probe into Elon Musk’s Grok

The European Union has launched a formal investigation into Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence chatbot, Grok.

Axar.az reports that this was announced by Regina Doherty, a member of the European Parliament representing Ireland.

“I welcome the Commission’s decision to launch a formal investigation. When credible information emerges that artificial intelligence systems are being used in ways that harm women and children, it is essential that EU legislation is immediately examined and enforced,” she said.

It should be noted that under the Digital Services Act, the investigation was initiated over the chatbot’s ability to generate sexualized content, including harmful fake images and content involving minors.
