Slovakia declares oil crisis over supply disruption

Slovak authorities have declared a national oil crisis due to a shortage of crude supplies.

Axar.az reports that Slovakia’s Pravda newspaper covered the development.

“The Slovak government, acting on a proposal from the State Material Reserves Administration, has declared a state of emergency in the oil sector. This is linked to the temporary suspension of Russian oil supplies via the Druzhba pipeline.

The Cabinet has reportedly decided to provide part of the country’s strategic oil reserves as a loan to Slovnaft, the company that operates the country’s only oil refinery,” the publication noted.
