Australia deploys surveillance aircraft and missiles to UAE

Australia will deploy a specialist military surveillance aircraft and advanced air-to-air missiles to the United Arab Emirates in an effort to help protect Australians in the region from potential threats posed by Iran.

Axar.az informs accordinf to ABC news, one of the country's most sophisticated military surveillance planes will be deployed, along with a crew of about 85 defence personnel to operate it.

"In response to a request, my government intends to provide advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles to the United Arab Emirates,"Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said.

Albanese emphasized that Australia is not taking part in offensive operations against Iran, describing the assistance as a defensive measure aimed at countering “unprovoked attacks” by the Iranian regime.
