US President slams NATO over Iran military support

The U.S. President Donald Trump described the American offer for NATO allies to participate in military operations against Iran as a “test” for the alliance.

Axar.az, during an interview with ABC, Trump stated: "I would say [it's] beyond reconsideration. I was never swayed by NATO. I always knew they were a paper tiger, and [Russian President Vladimir] Putin knows that too, by the way," Trump said.

He also criticized allied nations for not joining the U.S.-Israeli military campaign in Iran.

"We've been there automatically, including Ukraine. Ukraine wasn't our problem. It was a test, and we were there for them, and we would always have been there for them. They weren't there for us."

Trump emphasized that allies joining the war should have been automatic, even though he did not consult them before striking Iran.
