Saudi Foreign Ministry summons Iraqi ambassador

Iraq’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Safia Taleb Al-Suhail, has been summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in response to continued drone attacks and threats launched from Iraqi territory targeting Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states.

Axar.az reports, citing SPA, Saudi Deputy Minister for Political Affairs Ambassador Dr. Saud Al-Sati delivered an official protest note, emphasizing the Kingdom’s strong condemnation and denunciation of these attacks.

He stressed that Iraq must act responsibly to address these threats and reiterated Saudi Arabia’s categorical rejection of any violations of its sovereignty or attempts to destabilize regional security. He also affirmed that the Kingdom will take all necessary measures to defend its security and protect its territory.

It is worth noting that Saudi Arabia attributes the drone attacks and threats to launches originating from Iraqi territory, amid concerns over armed groups operating within the country.
