Ukrainian forces have, for the first time in the world, shot down Shahed-type UAV using an interceptor drone launched from an unmanned surface platform.

Axar.az reports Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces stated that the operation was carried out by operators of the 412th Nemesis Brigade.

According to the statement, the unit is conducting combat missions in the maritime operational zone, where it successfully intercepted the drone using a surface-launched aerial interceptor.

The Unmanned Systems Forces said this marks a new level of integration between maritime and aerial unmanned capabilities. The use of surface carriers to deploy interceptor drones expands the ability to counter aerial threats and creates an additional layer of protection for Ukrainian cities.
