Tamazashvili appointed Georgia’s Interior Minister

Former Georgian Interior Minister Gela Geladze will head the State Security Service.

Axar.az reports, citing Georgian media, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that the Head of Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Sulkhani Tamazashvili, has been appointed as the new Minister of Internal Affairs.

Kobakhidze noted that Tamazashvili has extensive experience within the Interior Ministry system and expressed confidence in his ability to perform the role successfully.

He added that a candidate for the position of Adjara government head will be named in the coming days following consultations with the President of Georgia and the Supreme Council of Adjara.
