Azerbaijani fuel curbed gas price increases in Armenia

Fuel supplies coming from Azerbaijan helped prevent a rise in gasoline prices in Armenia.

Axar.az reports, citing Armenian media, this was stated by Armenia’s Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan.

“Gasoline prices have increased several times in most parts of the world, while in Armenia they have risen by only a few percent. Let me explain very clearly and directly why this is the case. If Azerbaijani gasoline and diesel fuel had not been available, our prices would have been several hundred drams higher than they are now. We must maintain as much diversification as possible so that geopolitical factors have less noticeable impact on us,” he said.
